Argentine tango is a dance of subtlety, improvisation, and connection, a dance whose focus is entirely on creating a good/fun/comfortable/interesting/engaging experience with your dance partner. This workshop will introduce the very fundamentals of the dance: posture, walking, and the embrace. We will use these fundamentals to build a connection between dance partners and explore walking with a partner, milonguero back ochos, and the salida cruzada.
Argentine tango is a cozy dance; participants should be comfortable in close quarters with all hues of the gender spectrum, and be willing to both lead and follow as necessary.
Baron Von Oldenburg
Baron is a tinkerer, a scoundrel, and a well-intentioned fool. During the day he helps large corporations protect their bottom line in exchange for money, and he spends his free time voraciously learning. This has left him with a diverse and unconventional skillset probably more suited to a jewel thief or Bond-era spy; one of his friends once referred to him as "a one-man heist crew". No heist or spy movie being complete without a tango scene, Baron took up the dance to round out his resume.
