For those of you working on the CryptoChallenge, here is the introduction.

There has been a disturbance in the Force. Some believe that the end of the age is coming soon. It is said the Great Jedi Master has contemplated a Great Insight, and has sent a message of Jedi Wisdom to the planetary Jedi Leader. However, that message has been sent in multiple packets through multiple agents so as not to fall entirely into the hands of the Dark Side if captured.

Your task is to find the names of the messengers, and something associated with their identity. Some believe that these associated entities may be under the influence of the Dark Side, but this is not known for certain. What is known is that The Force works in opposite ways on the messengers and that which is associated with them.

It is rumored that the Great Jedi Master has even used the Dark Side to send messages without their knowledge. Certainly their anger will be kindled if this becomes known. Only by discovering the identities of the messengers and their associates can one hope to understand the message fragments that were transmitted.

The Jedi Leader believes that the message points to answers only those with understanding can discern. Those answers can unlock the final message of Jedi Wisdom, but only if applied in the correct sequence.

Your mission, oh noble one, is to search the heavens and that which is around you. Identify the messengers and their associates, and unlock and reassemble the message fragments. Apply your understanding to achieve Jedi Knowledge and be the first to complete the mission assigned by the Jedi Master and you will be suitably rewarded.

May the Force be with you.

We're only a week out from ToorCamp and we're just starting to get everything setup. At this point we're going to be closing pre-registration so if you haven't registered yet, it's your last chance to get a ticket before they jump to the at-the-door price of $300 for the whole event or $200 for the weekend. Get your procrastinator friends to get a ticket and get out to ToorCamp next week!

We've finalized the workshop lineup and just posted sign up forms for all of them. To sign up for a workshop you will need to be signed in to the website and answer a brief questionnaire. If you're uncertain about your schedule we will have sign up forms at the HQ cabin at ToorCamp that you can use to sign up, however many of the workshops have limited attendance so to guarantee your seat you should definitely sign up as early as possible.

Ask questions, learn about RFID, and get an RFID tag implanted! The Implantation Station will provide RFID tags, injector kits, expert advice as to placement and orientation from Amal Graafstra (author & double RFID implantee), ice to dull the "slight pinch" you'll feel during implantation, and band-aids! You'll be using your implant (and your hand) in just minutes. Cheap reader kits will also be available and come with a quick training session on how to implement a simple access control project with the reader kit and your new implant.

Our first talk we're announcing today is Ari Lacenski talking about hacks and the chemistry behind making vegan pastries in her talk Vegan What? We also have 2 workshops we're announcing, first of which is how to use the Android Framework for Exploitation to find and exploit a plethora of vulnerabilities in Android devices in his workshop Attacking Angry Birds: Advanced Android Exploitation with AFE. Our second workshop Jon McCoy is teaching methods of attacking, building payloads, and creating backdoors for .NET applications in his talk Hacking .NET(#C) Application: Day to Day Hacking.

Today we're proud to announce a few more awesome talks. First up we have a talk on using technology to automate growing your garden, have your garden brag about itsself to your online friends, and create a large database about how plants grow in Luke Iseman's talk Farming, Hacked. Another awesome talk we have is Matthew Borgatti talking about how to effectively manipulate public opinion and individual behavior through campaigns of misinformation and the interesting statistics behind these hoaxes in Motivated Misinformation - fabricating facts for fun and profit. We also have mc.fly and ryd discussing the benefits of running your own infrastructure instead of relying on the cloud as most people do these days in a rage talk: run your own infrastructure.

First off we have Waqas Nazir talking about a new approach to stopping software vulnerabilities in his talk Eliminate Vulnerable Code - Why should you care? We also have Rigel will give a brief overview of IP issues in health and medicine, and draw parallels between PhRMA's role in global health, the scientific publishing lobby's role in access to knowledge issues, and the RIAA and MPAA's role in free culture and technology in his talk Imaginary Property, Access, and Monetizing Disease. Finally there's Vincent Zimmer reviewing some of the rationale behind UEFI Secure Boot, platform threats, and the challenges in building industry-standard firmware in UEFI Secure Boot and challenges in platform firmware.
